Degrees are valuable because they assign some thresholds on a continuum of skills/knowledge. They also justify more salary the higher your degree is (valued by society).

But what you learn from the degree programs themselves and what you utilize in your job can be quite different, which is why many programs are connected to external companies and organizations that make the use of their graduates (as well as give them new skills for their particular industry).

I don't have a question, but I just wanted to give my condolences to you and other families involved who are going through this. I hope, for better or worse, you all get closure.
