You can tell even in the netflix documentary they made subtle hints he was kinda dark. The constant manipulation in combination with treating kids and others wives as possessions. He got off on being touted as some gody figure, but at the end when there was the double suicide it felt really vulnerable and like he was admitting it was all a crock of shit. The other guy picked up on it, and realized their stand was just for his ego, not some religious fact or prophecy, he then kills himself over that too. Om the fence about marrying a 14yo, it's not okay to me, but like they said it was legal, and your complaint should be with the laws., but I do agree he was a scum bag. It begs to question whether overlooking his nature was cause for federal agencies to storm your compound and kill everyone. It's a hard scenario to gauge because the bad guys held so much innocence and the good guys were doing some evil shit. You can easily land on vilifying both sides though.

The tanks were borrowed from the dod too, and the gas used had been known to ignite in confined areas. They set them up to die, by either fire or imprisonment.
