hostel versus apartment

The easy solution to this is to just switch it up every so often. Stay in a hostel for a bit until you get tired, then find a room / apartment. Once you feel like you've lost touch with people and want to rejoin them, go back to the hostel. This is accomplished easily if you're moving every 3 / 6 months anyways. Move into a new area, hang out at the hostel for 3 or 4 weeks. Then find a quiet apartment for the next 4 or 5 months, while sitll hanging with your hostel-found friends.
