I've heard that there's a lot of spite against the use of hearing aids among the deaf community, so I suppose my question is: Why is that? I think it's perfectly understandable if an individual doesn't want to use a hearing aid, but from what I've heard, it seems like people who can't hear without hearing aids are sort of "cast out" or looked down upon by the rest of the deaf community.
EDIT: Also (this is going to sound incredibly silly) but I remember an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry and George are trying to get a deaf person to lip read for them, to spy on an outside conversation, and she mistook the very innocent statement of "How about six?" for a more degrading "How about sex?". Have you ever misread someone's lips in a way that created an awkward situation, or is such a mistake improbable?

What caused you to become a manager at a sex shop? I imagine that could be a rather awkward job to apply for. Also, do you ever see anything items being sold in your store that make you think "what the fuck?"
