Not an InfoSec guy but to me the hard part of trying to explain why we need to care about keeping our stuff secure is finding a context where people can see how it actually impacts their lives.

I have to think, somehow some way, the US actually could establish a secure electronic voting system which would allow people to vote in their respective elections and know that the system is safe, secure, and their vote will count.

I'm just not smart enough to come up with it. I've read the USPS has some idea for using blockchain to secure voting. Is that the way to go? Is there a better one? How could this be done? Or would whatever we came up with, eventually, fall prey to hackers?
