Hey Lisa,
Do you think that agile\scrum is a development style that is practiced in a mostly cargo cult fashion and thus it very difficult to apply because nobody truly understands it and often conflicts with the information the business leadership requires to make projections on 'when something will be done'?
If so doesn't that hurt it's credibility? Should we find something that actually works?
Thanks

Fair enough, but if enough wealth is concentrated into a private company at what point does it not matter if its public or private? If you have enough monetary power concentrated in a single private company does the pressure become higher to actually make a buck in a maybe less than legal way because you can't just bullshit on Twitter and alter the market price. Perhaps there's another market plebs like me dont have access to....which is exempt from the traditional stock market regs that only entities with a billion dollars or more get invited to . If so I feel like we should refine what it means to be a private company.

It's almost like we can't trust private industry to "do the right thing." and companies will continue to just do whatever is in the interest furthering their existence. Companies, as they exist now, seem to be the pre-cursors to systems that we bring up as examples which are controlled by super smart AI. One in particular being the AI paper clip factory. In the current context a company is a device\system that exists to make money and benefit the shareholders, however it's comprised of people making decisions on human timescales, where as system that was fully automated and given the same goal to service profits and shareholders would be much more efficient and also completely devoid of any moral compass or empathy. The end goal for these two systems is the same and thus would produce similar outcomes, with the latter being much more efficient.
