You can drink in Dubai, usually in Western style establishments, but others permit it as well. As well as a few other countries in the ME permit drinking... why do you think the Saudis built that huge highway connecting them to Bahrain?

Also, if you want to possess liquor in your house, you must obtain a permit that must be renewed every year.
