Ricardo, what's with "Marijuana and Teens" article you ran? It reads like a totally unbalanced hit piece against weed placed by Kevin Sabet under the auspices of a warning to teenagers. It contains some factual inaccuracies, as well. Many studies have actually shown that cannabis in moderation does not harm the lungs, for one thing. And the writer didn't seem to actually look at the evidence around cannabis and driving, which shows a very mixed picture, not at all that driving while moderately high is dangerous. It's an extremely one-sided article, and it doesn't seem to have much to do with teens, even though that's the title. What's up wit that? Everything else you guys have put out so far has been great.

The CIA also has been caught repeatedly throughout history being involved in the cocaine and heroin trades. Note the whistle blowing of Michael Levine and Celerino Castillo and Mike Ruppert, Alfred McCoy's work on heroin smuggling, Gary Webb's work, etc. But, yes, this is not the bulk of it; there are all sorts of people trafficking hard drugs because of the mass profits that prohibition makes possible.

Yeah, I've done it a couple hundred times, and never had a "comedown," not has anyone I know. The "comedown" mythology is related to people combining MDMA with other drugs (or taking dirty ecstasy pills) and going partying all night, NOT the drug itself. If you take pure MDMA in a controlled setting, you typically feel absolutely amazing for a few days after; we call it the "afterglow."

Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies, not substances.

I very respectfully hope that you'll consider the question at some point, even if that may be a few years away. If you're not aware of them, please look at the amazing research being funded by the Multidisciplinary Association For Psychedelic Studies, MAPS. Www.maps.org. They're currently funding studies into the use of MDMA for treating soldiers with post-traumatic stress syndrome, and the results of early studies are very, very promising. Psychedelics are another class of drugs, like cannabis, that have absolutely no lethality.
