I know a few people who recently got laid off by a Harman subsidiary, they don't seem bitter about it at all, which is good.
I really do hope that the Harman acquisition doesn't curb development from some of these companies.
Martin is one of the largest lighting manufacturers, but this is ringing very similar to the Phillips-Genlyte aqusition in 2008, where VariLite was one of the subsidiaries of Genlyte, after that, VariLite stopped innovating as much as they used to.
Hopefully everything ends up fine.

Samsung owns Harman International, which is the parent company to Harman Professional, which manages H/K, AKG, and Martin (which is a huge lighting company).
They've taken part in laying off members of every company they acquire, in total, Harman Professional, the subsidiary of Harman International that controls Pro Sound/Pro Lighting laid off 650 employees this year.
Samsung is really hurting the expansion of these companies.
