This is actually the only reason why Vivaldi isn't my primary browser yet :) If it was open-source I would do that, for now I stick with Firefox and Vivaldi is my favorite secondary browser :)

This! I am a fan of your work, Jonathan Blow, and I use Linux exclusively, like many others. I hope you will bring The Witness for Linux along with other platforms because I really would like to play it! :)

Thank you for responding! I understand fully, I work with Linux and games professionally. I follow you on Twitter for some time already and I am aware that you gave Linux a chance many times. I linked GamingOnLinux just as an example.

I believe that if it was possible to release games like Shadow of Mordor, XCOM2, Cities Skylines or Talos Principle on Linux, then it is possible for The Witness as well.

Is hiring a trained Linux porter both for creating the port AND providing support for users out of question? That would take the trouble with dealing with mentioned issues away from you. Some contractors offer to be paid in future platform sales (which can be measured with Steam) - that is my counterargument for your financial argument.

Btw congratulations on the release :)

He did and he was annoyed by many things (which is understandable), see this: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/low-linux-sales-of-democracy-3-leads-to-jonathan-blow-developer-of-braid-blasting-linux.5608.

I still don't think how would that stop one from releasing the game on Linux, especially if ports for other platforms, including OSX are considered. Hiring a contractor is always an option.
