With as much presence as the Scientologist have downtown, not just property but bodies also, don't they already have de facto control of the businesses. Retail or bars/restaurants can't survive down there now if they are blackballed by the church.

Without the NRA on board, the chance of any legislation in practically nil. So we are stuck with asking people to please not be irresponsible with these deadly tools. I'm not brimming with confidence that this will be an effective plan.

What is the average case load per detective? 1, 10, 100, 1000? Is this a situation where they are overloaded and found a loop hole to move some cases along that appear questionable on the surface?
