I hope so too, it takes almost no effort to get on the registery. So many people can be saved from an otherwise hopeless fate.

It'd be pretty rare that the invasive procedure is needed so the odds are in your favor. Also they can't make you do if you choose not to. So I wouldn't worry about it to much.
