We went with Fedelta for a bit, partly because of the oversight system and communication promised. A notebook would be updated each visit so the family and Fedelta could check on care details. After signing up, this was never maintained and they were never checked by our case manager. I know COVID was especially tough on home care but the lack of oversight, attention to detail, and communication drove us to move my parent to assisted living.

I guess my question is, how is this business model working these days? I have a hard time imaging this is profitable and not just pushing customers into senior communities.

Yeah, I made a list of tasks and unless I stood there and told them what to do, nothing would get done. The whole point was to take some of the work off us because we work full time, but ended up just doubling what I had to do.

I was also told by Fedelta that everyone would be vaxxed and one of their caretakers told us flat out that they weren't vaxxed, and had been coming for weeks.

I don't think this is unique to Fedelta, though. I think it's all home care services. We tried Visiting Angels and another, and they were all the same.

EFT is a huge hole, IMO. I had my Driver's license stolen and they used it, with a bank routing number and game account number, to charge hundreds through stores accepting EFT. I find one guy at one clearinghouse that was able to block my DL ID from the network, and that solved it for me, but it took over a year.

Credit card, instant verification... EFT, eh, we'll assume you're legit and check in a week.

I guess my question is, how do people actively protect themselves from that vector? I had LifeLock at the time and they did nothing for me in that scenario.

Anyone tell you that you look a bit like Bighead from Silicon Valley?
