From what I can gather from this article there's no legal obligation to inform a sexual partner of your infection, but they can sue you under grounds of negligence if you knew about the disease and failed to inform them/take proper protective steps.

Oh yeah, that's a whole different kettle of fish. If you know that you're HIV-positive and choose to keep having unprotected sex you are a very bad person. Interesting that they were able to prove he deliberately infected them though, and charged him with "aggravated sexual assault with a deadly weapon". The sex was all consensual (as far as we know), so his body was the deadly weapon? Unique case as far as I know.

Also, that was a really poorly-written article, especially the phrase "full-blown AIDS". Horrible as it is, I couldn't help but laugh and think of this.

I like the idea that you kept laughing about this for a few weeks. Because, you know, I would as well.

"Cancer can be funny, just not for very long."

Damn. That line. In a similar vein, do you think there are any comedy acts, movies, television shows, books, songs etc that particularly resonate with your experience of cancer? For example, I love the book The Fault in Our Stars and the movie 50/50 but I have no idea how they are viewed by someone who's actually living through that.

That's because you've probably never been a professional writer. Most people with decent English skills tend to over-write; the first thing an editor will do is cull. "Less is more".
