Not a soldier. But was growing up in Grozny and traveled around a lot. So, Dagestani are slightly crazy at times but generally ok. Chechens? Well, I had quite a few fights with them when I was a kid. And it was always 5:1, never one on one. I wonder why Stalin sent them to Syberia? Nice, wonderful people! Also, when Soviet Union collapsed signs like "Russians don't leave - we need slaves!" were fun to read.

Yeah, well. Crazy times back then. My sister actually decided to stay during the first war. Had an actual anti-aircraft cannon right at her roof. And she was living on the last floor.

Imagine a country full of such people? I mean, I had to live there when I was a kid and never had even one normal male friend there. Also, fun story - I was into comics when I was a kid (drawing and shit), but living in Soviet Union we had none! My all inspirations where from the stuff some of my friends brought from other countries or the one I bought in Kiev. Now, any comic book was a treasure for me. Ones in Grozny I've stumbled on the 'local' comic book by the name "I wasn't born a bandit", about Shamil. Who was, well, what you'd call a terrorist nowadays. And he was praised as a hero in this book, killing and raping people left and right. I mean, I loved comics but that one was too much. I was like "what the fuck?!". But yeah, it was drawn perfectly. In a style of Conan I'd say. Go figure...

Yep, you were great as a Preacher in Johnny Mnemonic, that's for sure. You should've kept the beard though.

The best one! They're built like a tank.
