Since the shutdown is due in large part to the conflict over ACA, I'd like to ask a few questions regarding it first:

1) What's the possibility that the 9.5% of salary restriction will be expanded to family and not personal health care, either with further decisions or legislation?

2) Why were Eli Lilly & Pfizer such staunch supporters of the ACA (considering it supposedly makes it easier to create generic drugs including opening the door for generic insulin)?

3) Similarly, how will the ACA impact insurance companies? I was led to understand that non-profit companies will be more negatively impacted than for-profit ones.

Now to the shut-down:

1) Is only the House to blame or could the Senate have passed the House's version of the budget as well (I'm pretty sure it's the latter, but just double-checking)?

2) How likely is it that a compromise will be reached this week?

3) How is this going to impact the elections in 2014 or is it clear that this politicking is being explicitly done in an off-election year?

do you think you'll need to model universal grammar to do this or simply a watson-like engine?
