As someone who's a wealthy heir (though not nearly as wealthy as OP), I can say that my standards of frugal are pretty strange. I only spend on things I really want. If I don't want something, I'll scrimp and save every penny. I avoid going to the movies, driving places when possible. Just this morning I spent about ten minutes trying to find the cheapest Kindle charger (a matter of a dollar or two) that almost definitely actually works. I pay more than $10 for a meal maybe once a month.

However, if I want a new hard drive, I'll get a new hard drive, because that's the kind of thing that really impacts my life for its money's worth. I'm not frugal when it comes to things I really enjoy.

I call this strange because I actually end up spending more time picking out the little things that don't affect me much than the big things that I really care about, just because I'll spend a lot of time deciding whether I really need the little thing that doesn't affect me as much.

I am presently crying.

I have spent many hours (yes. Hours. Many.) listening to all of my friends and reading guides online.

Straight up, I swear to God, some people just can't do them, and I'm one of them. I don't know why it is. I think it's more neurological than ocular. Every few months I'll sit there and try to do it for another hour, and I just give up. I can't imagine it's worth it. It's just one of those struggles that will have to remain elusive to me.

It's really kind of depressing though.

Profit or revenue?

I think this is true of learning any language/library. I hate how programming is taught in college these days.
