Did you ever encounter any Canadian soldiers through your journey? What was it like realizing you were one of the few that made it out alive?

yes sir you do. I am curious because my grandfather was a WWII vet and was often able to give greater context to the different nations involved and what they were like as individuals. The little stories about sharing a drink with other nation's soldiers etc are not found in the textbooks, so I thought it would be interesting to see what the perception of our nation was from other war survivors.
