I always find it funny that America, so enamoured with their Constitution, just completely disregard it when it doesn't suit them.

"What's that? The Constitution says that Bradley Manning gets a speedy and public trial? Well we're going to have a slow and secret trial because we feel like it, and no one is going to stop us."

The United States wouldn't dare inhibit a citizens second amendment rights, but don't seem to care too much about their sixth amendment rights. Where's the sweeping and overwhelming national outrage about that?

Integration from ethnic minorities is a problem that every multicultural society faces. It’s a very complicated situation with no simple fix, and both sides of the divide have very persuasive arguments. My country also has its own struggles with this sort of situation.

However, I would say that if your culture was worthy of having the Russians integrate into it, it wouldn’t discriminate against them for not choosing to integrate.

If the situation is ever to improve, one of the sides needs to be the bigger man and capitulate. That is not to say that you should just roll over and let them do whatever they like, but if no-one extends the hand of friendship, how will the situation ever get any better?

I’m sorry if my comment makes you angry – and I will admit that I’m not familiar with the situation with Russians in Estonia – but if you were living in Russia and they discriminated against you, could you honestly say that you’d feel like adopting and respecting their culture?

Hello Senator Ludlam,

I am an early 20's voter that has become completely disillusioned with both Labor and the LNP and I am not particularly inclined to vote for either of them as my political leanings are sometimes pro-Labor, sometimes pro-LNP. Like you I am for the NBN but against internet censorship, etc.

My question is, as somebody who is not particularly interested in environmental politics (not against it or anything, just not something that has ever interested me much) what reasons are their to put my vote to the Greens party? Heading towards the next federal election and beyond, what do you think the appeal of the Greens party is to average voters who are fed up with the Big Two?
