Hi, my 4 year old was just diagnosed with autism. He is being tested next week on his cognitive abilities. He currently uses a mixed communication method with single words, PECS and sign language. We believe he has intelligence and good cognitive ability but we feel the testing won't reflect that due to his lack of focus and hyperactivity. What kinds of things can we look for as measures of his cognitive abilities outside of the formal testing environment?
