not to get into a massive LOST argument, but LOST is one of my favorite shows (the first three seasons, at least). It definitely looked to me like they were caught off-guard by having to do more than a couple seasons as they had very little direction and very few explanations after the hatch blew up.

When all was said-and-done, the show was about protecting a rock from tipping over in a cave no one can find and, if that should happen, an island that no one can reach and very few know about will crumble into the ocean. And the main drama behind all this doesn't get introduced until the last season where we find all the bad guy wants to do is leave the island (like everyone else wants to do)? And he would be leaving as a regular, mortal human being with no special powers (those die off after the rock is moved) So it would be the equivalent of unleashing a really angry person into the world who has no money or identity. The last season was very clever, but had massive, massive plot holes not only having to do with character motivation, but also ethics.

Of course, I cried when it was over. I felt a connection to those characters, but two days after it was over, I thought to myself "sooooo hold on a second."

Besides Ken Ham, how did everyone else treat you at the event?

Do native Irish people still remember the overwhelming racism against the Irish in America several decades ago? If so, is it an unspoken grudge against American tourists or has it been forgiven for the most part?
