Yeah, sad to say a former co-worker of mine has to deal with this. She did some nude modeling in the late 80s/early 90s. Eventually did a few movies and then got out of it.

Well somehow somebody figured it out and figured out her stage name and it got around work and everyone saw these images. Somebody even found one of the videos on ebay and bought the VHS then put it up on YouPorn or something.

Anyway, a couple of people brought it up to her and eventually she sat down to talk to HR about it and had a really uncomfortable conversation I imagine. She left for other reasons after that but I can't imagine that conversation she has everywhere she goes now.

How do porn stars get paid? Like, is it cash after the shoot? Do they get paid through an invoicing system? Is there a monthly salary for studio contract girls? I know different girls have different rates for different acts on their “menu” so to speak, but how does the boring “job” part work?

Do you just get up and go to work and do the sex stuff, then go shower and go home or whatever and every other Friday there’s a direct deposit?

Thanks for answering. I had a roommate years ago whose girlfriend was a “porn star” but she’d only done some very questionable non-studio things that didn’t require testing or even ID. When she went to get paid they told her it’d be direct deposited and then she never heard from them or got paid again. Her videos are STILL up on some sites now, like 16-17 years later. I think she owns a hair and nail salon in Vegas now.

If you want to answer another: what’s the best part of the job? Not sex related, more about the industry or culture.

The point of free speech is that you have to allow all sorts of free speech, even the disgusting racism, trolling, whatever. Otherwise it's not free speech.

In the US the limits to it generally come down to whether it's inciting a panic (the standard example is walking into a crowded theater and yelling "Fire!" to cause a stampede and somebody gets hurt), inciting to violence (if Sanders got on stage and started demanding his supporters beat up a Trump supporter in the crowd), and knowingly making false claims ("Mr. Johnson of 34 Bell Lane is a serial killer and pedophile") which all have varying levels of punishment, civil and/or criminal.

But it's free to say you're a nazi or you hate some class/race of people. It's free to tell people you're attracted to children or write a poem about raping a sheep. That doesn't mean you can't lose your job or something, just that you can't face any criminal or civil action due to those beliefs and statements alone.

For the most part, it's worked well.

Google "April Westcott" or something if I remember right.
