two questions: 1) how can i plant spuds in the same plot more than three years in a row without getting those nasty scabs on them (my soil is very sandy) and 2) does piling tires over the plant gain more potatoes give you a larger net yield or the same volume of smaller potatoes?

How long were your shifts?

I worked a few years on an ice breaker and we had to work six hours on and six hours off. I loved the job but could never get used to going to bed twice a day.
