This is extremely dangerous to our democracy

So as a woman I have to ask (and because my aunt grew up in a house without running water too, and my grandma had and raised six kids in one, so I'm morbidly curious) what do you do for periods? Is it as simple as changing your pad/tampon? Or do you use a menstrual cup and have to figure out how to sanitize it without running water?

Disclaimer, I'm a girl (but I do hate being approached when I'm out and about). I'd say that you can usually tell when a girl's playing nice but doesn't want to talk any more, because her tone and body language will suggest it. I know I certainly adjust mine depending on whether I want to talk or not, because then I'll give clipped responses, not really maintain eye contact or stand slightly distant/angled away, or feign interested responses like "Oh, cool." "Really?" "Mhmm." that don't give much room to continue the conversation. If you come across that, just close out the conversation and maybe try someone else.

Whether or not I'll think you're creepy really just depends on whether you make skeezy comments or fish for personal information, or refuse to end the conversation, or follow me around or threaten me.

I feel like having "must runs" at all should be illegal. There's no good reason for it coming from a news station or something like Sinclair (no reason that's any good for the people watching anyways), and I'd sort of get it in the instance of covering a breaking news topic but then again the station would be covering that stuff anyways even without being ordered to.

Seconding this. I can't stand yes-men, because not only does it feel like I can never be sure what their genuine opinion on something is, but because the fact that they're contorting their identities into whatever they think would be most attractive to me just makes it feel like they're entering the relationship solely because they don't want to be alone/want sex/want a mommy mcbangmaid later on. Like they don't care about me as a person or enjoy anything about me other than what I can do for them as a female.

When someone is able to trade opposing opinions with me on the little things (without delving into obvious contrarian territory) but still agree with me on at least most of the really big things and listen to my opinions considerately and without nitpicking, then that's the sweet spot. The conversation doesn't die down and I can trust that they enjoy my company and not just my body, and most importantly that I can trust that we'll be able to make it work years down the road.
