No. EU and Canada have less health care costs because they are market controlling by being single payer.

The government, not the market, sets the price of everything. That's why an X Ray machine that costs 3K in the EU can cost 30k here. Healthcare costs right now are literally what the market can support without hospitals and insurance going out of business.

The same thing happened with education when the feds made a push for student loans to be given out. College costs rose dramatically since then because the market could now support it since all these people were getting expensive loans from federal programs.

I don't mind going to single payer, but I am loath to say that our health care costs are more expensive because of lobbiers. They are trying to keep the status quo which is market defined costs. We want the government to control the cost.
