How come newer therapies like nivolumab can create other responses like inflammatory arthritis in a host? I'm baffled.

Why aren't we talking about auto immunology? Pain is just an epiphenomenon of arthritis, there is so much more than just pain.

Woah, this is fantastic, i know a bit about immunology but very basically so I have never heard of checkpoints. And how do you treat said arthritis? With DMARDS? another biologic agent? Or you just wait for the therapy to stop and it (the arthritis) to resorb?

Another question, can a drug like nivolumab trigger an immune response in such that an RF or an ACPA might become positive ?
