Given the political situation in Russia, including Putin's determination to undermine Western interests, his control over the media, and the interference in foreign elections by Russian hackers, it should not surprise you that consumers in the West might cast a skeptical eye towards security software from a Russian company. Your firm's public comments dismissing accusations against Russian hackers doesn't exactly enhance your credibility either.

The best security software in the world is worthless if there's no trust in its maker.

For all we know, Kaspersky and his company may be 100% trustworthy and reliable. But it's disingenuous to suggest anyone should make that assumption.

You can't say they're trying to deceive everyone when they aren't really making any extraordinary claims.

Yeah, it's not like they've done something dishonest like building fake department and grocery stores full of products that aren't for actually for sale.

The problem with this strategy is that even if your user account doesn't have admin rights, you will be frequently prompted for an admin authentication when performing certain functions anyway. Eventually you will become desensitized to these intrusions, making you almost as vulnerable as if your user account had admin rights.
