Kegging is less of a PITA, and you get less sediment in each glass when you're pulling from a keg, but as far as taste goes...I can't tell a difference

Find a local home brew supply shop with an experienced staff if you can, you may pay more, but it's worth it! Most places will sell you a starter kit that comes with everything but the kettle and the empty bottles, don't be afraid to brew in plastic buckets either.
