I have to say, this has been one of the most interesting AMAs I've read in a while. Thanks for the opportunity to get a new perspective into what's happening in Crimea.

My question is, suppose the majority of Crimeans vote for increased sovereignty within Ukraine (unlikely, from everything I've heard) and Kiev agrees to honor the results (also unlikely, from your other AMA responses). What would increased sovereignty look like? What concessions would the Ukrainian government have to make so that Crimeans would be satisfied with not joining Russia?

My second question concerns these comments by Garry Kasparov, former world chess champion and opposition activist against Putin. He compares the Russian invasion of Crimea to the invasion of Georgia in 2008, and that Putin was motivated by increase his domestic standing. Do you agree with that analysis? How do Crimeans view Putin?
