What kind of defenses do you have in the cockpit to ward of hijackers? Are there specific procedures you must follow if you were to ever encounter this?

I saw your answer on how you finance your travels...But are you married? Children? I have a fanily and even if I could afford this travel, it seems it would be near impossible.

Get the heart out of palpitations with electrical impulses? This is not entirely accurate, or just not explained properly.

The good med student here may be talking about ATP (Anti-tachycardia Pacing). This is a feature that this and all modern defibrillators (ICD's) come with. The ICD will attempt to pace you out of Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) while it charges for the shock. If it fails to pace you out of the arrhythmia, the device will shock you. Hopefully after you have already passed out. ATP therapy works quite often for VT, or other fast tachycardias. Regardless, the shock will almost always bring you out of it.
