Could you please respond to Leon Wieseltier's review of Thomas Nagel's most recent work? Have you read Mind and Cosmos, and was your response to it perhaps more politically shaded than academic?

It's not a matter of the existence of or conclusions supported by evidence. The injustice in Ferguson is a matter of who gets to consider that evidence. We have an adversarial trial process in the US, and through competing arguments between prepared legal sides we obtain justice. That process was not allowed to happen through this somewhat unprecedented grand jury deliberation.

EDIT: To clarify, I don't mean that grand juries are unprecedented, but that these juries are almost always given WAY less evidence to consider, and typically are satisfied simply by the evidence of conflicting accounts. That they would consider this huge preponderance of evidence (and notably evidence that supports the defense) is nuts.
