none of us wants the other to convert.

and I dont think you should either. As long as you keep your religions seperate you are a symbol for co-existance and peace. But as soon as either of you convert you will be a "win" for THAT side and all your struggle will be for naught.

I would even think both of you swearing off religion altogether or convert to a tertiary religion (Christianity, Buddhism, Asatru...) would be preferable.

Not JimEllison here, but some Aikido styles also train with weapons (Bokken and Jo-staff) which uses a form of "strikes" I guess you can say.

Secular is not really the same thing as atheist.

Secular people can still believe in a God but just don't care about following religious regulations and commandments, going to church/synagogue/mosque or care what various religious leaders say.
