I watch Ninja Warrior to see skilled athletes compete on an obstacle course. I watch WipeOut to watch idiots get hurt on ridiculously unfair courses.

I've always thought this too. People compare it to YouTube and Facebook, and say that people from those sites don't freak out when they realize that they go to the same website. But I think the difference is that reddit has so many in-jokes and a real sense of community. It's almost like having a million asshole friends.
