To be honest, Six Feet Under isn't one of those shows where you can give a quick account and be able to compare it to something else. If you have the time, I'd definitely suggest a watch.
A quick summary though is that it was an HBO exclusive show that ran 5 seasons which focused around a family run funeral home and the ups and downs of the business, family issues and much much more.
