Where/when did you go to school?

There was a portion of our history classes dedicated to covering Native interaction with settlers up until probably around the mid 1800s, and in high school, there was a half-class offered called Native Studies that covered Native history up until residential schools, but I never had a class that actually covered contemporary Native culture and the struggles that indigenous people face in the present day.

It wasn't until I was 16 and my mom discovered that my grandmother had concealed some Native blood in our family that I really started paying attention to Native history after the 1900s and the conditions they live in in the present day. I know that's pretty selfish of me, but I was teenager and was pretty selfish. Still, I was pretty shocked looking into the living conditions of a lot of people on reserves and by how long residential schools existed, as well as the extent of their abuse.

That being said, there was a Cree guy in my class whose dad came in a few days a year until grade 6 and would teach us directly about Native customs, but they were still more traditional aspects like ceremonies, food, art, that sort of thing.

For the record, I grew up in Ottawa and went to grade school from the mid-90s to late-2000s.

Did Quentin Tarantino ever follow through on his threat to shut your butt down?

If you could go back and not fuck up the Richard Ayoade interview, what questions would you ask him to ask himself?

Do you have trouble hearing, or did you keep pressing Robert Downy, Jr. on personal issues that he clearly didn't want to talk about because you're an asshole?
