Thanks! Link to the case you’re referring to for others’ convenience. In the case, Teller copyrighted his presentation of a trick, so he didn’t have to reveal how it was done - just what the trick looks like. Someone copied the look/performance of the trick and got sued by Teller. The defendant argues that his trick is done differently, and the judge said, it doesn’t matter how it was executed because from the audience’s perspective, everything is exactly the same.

Is there a registration for the illusions like with patents? If you keep your methods secret, it’s hard to claim someone else copied it because you never showed them how to do it.

What leads you to say that it’s not true for the rest of the dark web? Is there really any way to know whether or not any aren’t scams and were carried out successfully without being caught?

I’m not doubting you, I’m just curious how you know.
