What's your opinion about the orangutan?

I wrote a grad school paper on Eureka using poststructuralist theory and identifying the pattern alignments between inductive and deductive logic and when he was using Scottish Enlightenment or German Romantic philosophy... I had a hard time explaining it to my classmates 😅

I think he was trying to say something sophisticated about race but "white dude-d" it pretty hard. Although my general "Poe spent a lot of time trying to write Sophisticated Literature and bombed at it every time" applies to more than just Rue Morgue, ha. I'm in the minority that thinks Eureka was meant to be taken seriously.
