How has this not been taken to the courts (state or federal) yet? It's a direct violation of the establishment clause of the first amendment, among other laws.

I realize the "official" argument for vouchers is that it moves kids from failing public schools to (better) private schools. My rebuttal to that is that the money being spent on vouchers could be put to much better use improving public schools, or starting new public/charter schools.

The state of public education in LA is deplorable.

vouchers are not the parent's tax dollars being returned to them! They are EVERYONE's tax dollars being GIVEN to them. MY tax dollars are going to a religious institution against MY will, in violation of the establishment clause.
