I had a furby once that I took on a road trip from Florida to New York to California. We named him Magellan. Little dude contemplated suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge, dangled over the edge of the Grand Canyon, took a dip in Crater Lake, failed at climbing the St Louis Arch, almost got lost in rubble while helping with tornado relief, lost both eyelashes in a perhaps-not-accidental fire, and rafted the Colorado River in Moab.

Edit: forgot the point of the story: His name was Magellan. At last count he has been to about 30 states.

Edit 2: And actually I still have him. I don't know why I wrote it like I don't anymore.
