I worked for a franchise LC as my first job. All pizzas that didn't sell were inventoried and we're donated to the local homeless shelter along with leftover sides. The only pizzas that actually were thrown out were ones that left the store. The shelter volunteers came once a week for the pizzas/sides. It was gross. I asked how they could stand eating it and one lady's reply was, "they smother it in hot sauce, they love it."

Employees weren't allowed to take pizzas home, we did anyway. We just inventoried the box as a thrown out pizza and individually packed the slices to take home.

We had local homeless dive for our thrown out pizzas, they knew when we closed and when we took our trash out.

I am always late to the AMAs that interest me the most.

I am deaf in my right ear, I have been since birth. My parents didn't even know until I was four. When I was tested originally in 1993 the ENT told my parents there was nothing they could do for me. When I was retested at 13 I was given the same story, and told that I had adjusted well enough. Then again I went back to an audiologist a couple years ago and was told there was still nothing to help me.

Finally my question is, do you happen to know if the BAHA only works for those completely deaf in the ear? Or does it work for those who have specific frequency hearing loss? The reason I ask is because most treatable hearing loss is low frequency, which means that most hearing solutions (aids) are meant for low frequency loss. I have high frequency hearing loss and have been told that there is no technology available for high frequency hearing loss, yet. I've waited over 20 years for a solution and keep getting the same answer. I'm just ready to have a better quality of hearing already.

Thanks for the AMA. I really enjoy reading that there are others out there.
