Fellow submariner here, I know that feeling going through ice packs as well. That was nothing compared to driving under a hurricane to do sound analysis from the turbulence. Nothing makes you nervous like 45 degree rolls while several hundred feet under water when you can't hear shit lol.

Haha yeah, we were deeper than that and getting thrown around like a toy. We had to be there though so it was like 12 hours of stuff flying around.

Submarine chiefs tend to be more laid back then the surface ones. That being said, my first 3 were fired before I even got my fish.

The dolphins were like welcome home signs for us in San Diego. They would bow surf from about 5 miles out all the way into Point Loma.
