I read somewhere recently(was linked by a reddit TIL or something, can't remember) that Murray's character relived Groundhog Day for 10,000 years over the course of the movie. I had never even considered the possibility of it being anywhere near that long before, but it does explain the god complex.

I might be a little late for a response, but I'm curious about how you manage this. You've answered numerous questions about how you AFFORD to travel like this, but how on earth do you find the TIME? For me, that's just as big of a constraint unfortunately.
