I'm what I would call an "old school" solver. I started playing around with cubes when they first came out in the '80s. I have always used the same algorithms, and my best time is 42 seconds. Honestly, this is about as quick as I think you can get using the "old school" methods...it all comes down to the number of turns. I have considered learning new methods that would reduce my time under 30 seconds, but I'm afraid how my brain will accept a new method. The current one has been engrained in my brain for almost 40 years. Have you ever had to scrap everything and learn new algorithms? If so, how challenging was it for you to think in a new way?

Is there a reason the room where these are displayed is so dark? I was just there a couple weeks ago and while I can understand a little mood lighting, this room seemed extraordinarily dark, where folks were having a hard time reading things. Had a great time at all the museums on the mall...just a suggestion to turn the dimmer up a notch or two.

That's a great podcast for learning things about the band...like who the members are.

I loved your constitution series on PBS. My question is, why didn't you promote the series on Wait, Wait? Everyone else gets to have their plugs. Just wondered why you never plugged your own series. Looking forward to seeing you when you come to Durham.

Why did you use the incorrect star-filled sky on the night the Titanic sunk?
