I'm a freelance copywriter. You're right, but I'd say go a step further than that. Just specializing in website copy is still a little too broad. I have a niche within that niche, and because that's virtually all I do, it's much easier for me to get clients (because they view me as specialized) and the work is also significantly easier and less time-consuming (because research time is minimal for me due to familiarity with the industry).
