All the anonymity of the 90s with all the memes of the modern age. An antisocial media, really. The best of all possible worlds, if you think about it.

I have a 14 month old born without most of his left arm. I don't have much advice to give, as we're just stumbling forward ourselves... Just wanted to say hang in there!

I ask the same questions when someone posts about their weird/missing hand. Sometimes I get good advice, sometimes not. I kinda wish there were a good way for parents with "different" kids to get together easier or something. There's a support group on Facebook for kids with missing limbs, but I hate FB, and the local group is just a once a year get-together thing. Apparently I missed it last summer. I dunno, I just worry about ending up like OP's mom or something without a little guidance. But I think if we keep asking how to do it right, we are probably going to end up doing it at least OK.

Oh wow, thanks for sharing this! My son was born without an arm, so I have looked at a lot of prostheses-- most of them are not too lifelike or interesting. I'd love it if he had access to limbs that were fashionable or lifelike, in addition to being functional (if he wants to use one). This is a project that gets me about as excited as DEKA arms!

I was just thinking that OP is living proof that gender and sexuality are so much more complicated than simple genetics. It's so interesting to hear about her experience!

Not this particular one, looks really interesting! Not sure that congenital limb loss makes you a candidate for reinnervation though (it requires surgery, and also a brain wired to work the missing arm). But maybe that is something he will want to pursue when he older.
