Producers can be transparent without being certified but seeking out welfare-certified products that align with your values is the simplest way to be sure you're buying from a higher-welfare source.

Strongly agree with Leah: Certified Organic standards don’t require meaningful welfare improvements, but the USDA just issued a “proposed rule” that if finalized will dramatically improve welfare for animals raised on Organic farms. You can learn more and sign a petition to support the rule here. Leah's organization may have resources available to help on this as well.

We'd love to expand to Canada but so far we don't have sufficient resources. These websites are so expensive to build and maintain—we need additional funding to continue improving the site in general.
