Well, let's see. What was the exchange rate again? A thousand?

The God of Practice :-) Seriously, that's all there is to it. The great, intensely addictive thing about drawing is you will always see improvement if you keep at it for long enough, no matter your level. Methods: I'm pretty much pure digital. I use a Wacom Intuos 4 and Photoshop for almost everything, with occasional forays into Corel Painter to take advantage of its blending tools. The silhouettey views of Fallen London are usually done in Illustrator. Leeway: yeah, tons. Alexis will give me some sort of brief, and suggests changes from time to time, but how things look is basically my problem. For big and complex illustrations we tend to bounce sketches and feedback around on Gchat until we find something we both like.

We would love to. The thing about comics is that they are incredibly time-intensive, and we have this game to make as well... So the situation with the comic right now is that we're looking for an interested publisher before we commit more time, but I wouldn't be very surprised if it does come back, because it's MAD FUN to do.

When we started Fallen London I was a hobby artist, so I had to learn the job while doing it. We didn't have anything as clearly defined as an "art direction", so for a long time the game was a hodgepodge of styles, based on what I was capable of at the time. It's evened out a bit now, as we go back and update stuff, and I think we've now got a definable style - cartoony, but dark, strong silhouettes, a hand-painted feel - that we can apply to Sunless Sea.
