In situations like this how can proof of the crime be obtained? Is it generally only after multiple complaints that something will be done?

I'm asking because, like in a lot of sexual assault cases, there are only two people involved which makes it very hard for the victim to prove what happened and vice versa.

I'm sure there is a legitimate process for this kind of thing. I definitely wasn't trying to push the "false accusation" narrative, not that you said I am I'm just trying to be clear!

I think this is why when a doctor is caught it is only after multiple complaints. One complaint where there are only two people present for the crime is complicated as hell to prove (unless there is physical evidence from rape kit etc).

It's one of those interesting (and horrible) aspects of law.
