Hey Ryan! Have you ever worked with the compound LSA? Personally I find it absolutely fascinating, most notably occurring in morning glory and hawaiian baby woodrose seeds, and often referred to as "natural LSD" in a way. I've experimented with them a bit in the past but frustratingly, there's very little I've been able to find out about their chemistry outside of largely anecdotal experience. I've always been fascinated by the more "fringe" substances that aren't in the common psychedelic lexicon and LSA is the one that's piqued my interest in the last few years.

Hello! Is there any research being done right now regarding addiction cessation with psychedelics? I feel like a few years ago there were numerous reports of psychedelics being used to aid the healing of alcoholism, as well as plenty of anecdotal experiences from trippers, but lately that doesn't seem to be the case (as far as I know). I absolutely love the work being done with mental health and psychedelics, but as a casualty of the nicotine vaping crisis, one of my biggest points of interest personally is how psychedelics can be used to help those suffering from addiction. It's my dream one day to be able to go to a psychedelic psychotherapy clinic and finally make real progress in quitting nicotine, but even with things like ketamine therapy in my state, addiction cessation isn't an option. Thank you in advance!

Hi Ethan! I wonder if you could briefly talk about some of the work you've done in the field of harm reduction, and what exactly that term means to you? I consider myself an advocate of harm reduction, and these kinds of practices have influenced the way I interact with recreational drugs very deeply. I was enamored in my teen years by figures like Hamilton Morris, discussing the effects of different drugs, the chemistry, and the culture surrounding them. However, I often find myself somewhat confused as to what harm reduction really is. I consider it personally to simply be proper education on drugs' effects so users know exactly what they're getting into before consuming a substance and how they can do it as safely as possible, but there are a lot of people on the internet sporting the harm reductionist title with vastly different interpretations - the youtuber PsychedSubstance comes to mind as someone who proclaims harm reduction but has some rather questionable implementations of it at times (not to completely disparage him, I found a lot of value in his content in my early days of exploration). Thank you for doing this AMA, and I'll definitely be listening to your podcast!
