Exactly. Who's to say that an unpopular choice was made available for the republicans so that an even more unpopular choice can underhandedly interjected by the electoral college? I honestly don't think this is the case here, but still.

Don't misunderstand me. I think one of the most interesting aspects is this, though a lot of people wouldn't "get" it I'm afraid.
